What is a ligature logo?

A ligature logo is a word-mark logo that links letters together.

How would describe the corporate identity of ESMA in 5 words?

The corporate identity of ESMA can be described as modern, diverse, experienced, bold, and creative.

Which logo out of the two do you feel is the strongest and why?

Out of the two, I think my second one is the strongest because it’s a simple logo, but it has a complex meaning. Because Epic Music Records is releasing the Epic Streaming Music App (ESMA), most to all of the attention originally directed towards the record label itself will be focused on the app. Through all of this, I want the followers of Epic Music to not forget about the company that made it. I made the “E” and “M” red and stand out so the fans will out forget Epic Music.

If you had no requirements or restrictions how would your logo look different?

If I had no requirements or restrictions, my logo would either incorporate different shapes or multiple different colors to catch the eye of the followers of Epic Records or just anyone in general who sees the logo.

Explain which ligature techniques you have demonstrated on each logo:

1: Remove part of a stroke. I removed a specific horizontal part of a stroke from every letter, and made the last stroke of the E long enough to cover all of the letters. This stroke bears a major significance, as it represents the longevity and experience that the company has ever since its establishment in 1953.

2: Shared stroke. I linked all of the letters together by using the same stroke throughout the whole logo; this helps to create a sense of unity among the logo.
